Schedule - Field Trips
PDF Print E-mail
Written by Angela Guy, Field Trip Chairman

The Tehachapi Mountains Birding Club schedules birding field trips or walks at least once a month. Most are held on Saturday following the monthly general meeting. Scheduling and details are published in The HOOT newsletter and announced at the general meetings. For the latest details, always consult this web page. We try to go where the birds are. Therefore, the following schedule is tentative depending on the birds, availability of birding sites and weather conditions. Beginners are always welcomed!

For all trips please RSVP to Angela Guy at 304-6816 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Remember to dress in layers and don’t forget to bring water, snacks, sunscreen, field guide and binoculars. If you need a ride contact Kerri Esten at 822-6321.

Unless otherwise stated, we generally meet in the Burger King parking lot by K-Mart in Tehachapi (view map and get directions below).

    Tejon Ranch

We have scheduled a docent-led trip to the Antelope Valley side of Tejon Ranch. This is a first-ever field trip to this location for TMBC. After Richard Sparks amazing trip there last year on May 2, we really have to share this spring migration phenomenon with everyone! View Richard's blog post and see why the trip was described it as "the best birding he's ever had in California!" Expect large numbers of all western warblers and other migrants like vireos, kingbirds, flycatchers and more! Don't miss this one.

Meet at the K Mart parking lot near Burger King at ? am. We will carpool from there. RSVP to Angela Guy at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or 304-6816. Dress in layers and bring water, snacks, lunch, guidebooks, and binoculars. If you need a ride contact Kerri Esten at 822-6321 and she will make arrangements for you.
